In troubled and uncertain times, it is extra important to properly protect your home and belongings. For that reason we see an increased interest in camera systems. We recently took a good look at what is available on the market and, based on various reviews, looked at what the right advice would be in this case.
The camera systems supplied by us are connected via POE (Power over Ethernet), which means that all cameras are powered directly with a network cable, so that no separate power connection is required in the vicinity of the cameras. This of course makes placement very flexible.
What's important?
Image quality is of course important when choosing a camera system. The higher the pixels in a camera, the more detail will be visible in the final images. But not just any camera is suitable for use on Bonaire. Because of the climate on our beautiful island, things sometimes break. We have therefore chosen to offer camera systems that contain cameras made of aluminum. All outdoor cameras are also IP66 waterproof. This makes them resistant to the largest rain showers and they are also dust-proof. Temperatures of up to 55 degrees Celsius are also no problem, in short, technically the right choice. Of course it is possible to view the camera images remotely via a free App for your smartphone.
And the image quality?
As stated earlier, the more megapixels the better. We supply cameras with up to 8 Megapixels, which is a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, also known as 4K.
These cameras also have night vision, so a sharp image will be recorded even in the dark hours.
It is also possible to make cameras work wirelessly, but then a power point is required near the camera. But technology is not standing still, there are already cameras that get their power from a small solar panel. The only disadvantage of this is that the resolution that the camera can record is compromised. Our advice therefore focuses mainly on wired systems, but in certain cases it may be necessary to resort to other solutions.
Color night vision
It has recently become possible to install cameras with Color Night Vision. This way, you also have perfect color images in the darkest moments of the night without loss of quality.
We have already been able to install these systems at the first customers on Bonaire and the result is amazing!
Our advice
Think about securing your belongings. A professionally installed camera system gives you a safe feeling. And in the unlikely event that something does happen, you always have evidence in the form of camera images. These can easily be downloaded or put on a USB stick and handed over to the police as evidence. We are happy to advise you about the specific options.
